Some Cities is a not for profit Community Interest Company that creates high quality and inclusive participatory photography opportunities that give a voice to people and communities. We work with all levels of photographers creating opportunities for them to learn, make and publish their work.

We use photography as a platform to help develop skills and encourage social cohesion by creating opportunities for people to learn, to make considered choices about themselves and their communities and to share their thoughts and feelings with others.

In addition we run a darkroom and workshop space in order to offer a platform for self-expression where organisations, community groups and individuals can access affordable photography training and facilities.

We're driven by a shared ambition to see Birmingham become a UK centre of photography, and by the desire to create an extensive digital archive of life within the region via user-submitted content. We truly believe that photography can be used to share knowledge and create opportunities for dialogues and understanding between communities, - both within the UK but also further afield.

If you'd like to have a chat about how working with Some Cities can be of benefit to you, your organisation or business, whilst helping to promote photography, please do get in touch we'd love to hear from you.
